HISTORY
The Department of Management and Organization was established in 2002 as one of the 16 departments of Balıkesir Vocational School . The Department's sole program, Business Administration , is one of the oldest, having operated as a regular and evening program since the school's founding in 1976, first in the Department of Economics and Administrative Programs , and then in the Department of Management and Organization in 2002. Today, it continues its education and training activities with four faculty members: one assistant professor and three lecturers. All of our faculty members possess both industry and academic experience.
OUR DEPARTMENT WILL PROVIDE EDUCATION WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE 3+1 BUSINESS VOCATIONAL EDUCATION MODEL IN THE 2025-2026 ACADEMIC YEAR. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES/EMPLOYMENT AREAS
Students who successfully complete the program can pass the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by ÖSYM and continue their studies in undergraduate programs that accept students from the Business Management Services program. Students who complete the Business Management program also have the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree by vertically transferring to the Business Administration departments of the Faculty of Education without taking the exam.
Graduates of business management programs can find employment in public institutions and businesses in marketing, finance, accounting, banking, insurance, public relations, human resources, purchasing, and other fields. They can also contribute to the creation of new employment opportunities by establishing businesses in accounting, marketing, communications, insurance, and other fields.
DEGREE EARNED
Students who successfully complete this program will receive an Associate Degree in Management and Organization. ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: Admission to the Balıkesir University Business Management Program is based on a centralized exam administered by the Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Admission is based on the TYT score, and the department offers a two-year associate degree.
Qualification Conditions and Rules
In order for a student to graduate from the Business Management program, he/she must have a general grade point average (transcript) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, pass the compulsory courses in the education-training program, be successful in other studies prescribed in the program, complete a total credit load of 120 ECTS , and have been approved for graduation by the relevant board of directors.
EXAMS , ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION
All students must register for classes at the beginning of the semester and attend at least 70% of the classes to be eligible for the final exam. Students will take at least one midterm exam (midterm) and one final exam (final) for each course. All exams are graded out of 100, with the midterm accounting for 40% and the final exam accounting for 60%. A minimum score of 50 on the final exam, with an average of 45, is required. Passing grades are converted to letter grades according to the table. Students who receive a letter grade of AA, BA, BB, CB, or CC in a course are considered successful. DC and DD are conditional passing grades. Courses that receive a letter grade of FF and are considered failed are repeated in the first semester they are offered.
ASSOCIATE DEGREE PROGRAMS THAT CAN BE TRANSFERRED BETWEEN DEPARTMENTS
The procedures and principles to be followed in horizontal transfers between diploma programs within Balıkesir Vocational School or to equivalent diploma programs in other higher education institutions are regulated in the "Balıkesir University Directive on the Principles of Horizontal Transfer within and Between Institutions" ( https://kms.kaysis.gov.tr/Home/Goster/61834 ).
Students wishing to transfer using the central placement base score (Additional Article 1) must have a central placement score (YKS) in the year they enrolled equal to or higher than the base score of the programs they wish to transfer to at our University. Furthermore, they must not have previously availed themselves of this right. Procedures and principles regarding these procedures are outlined on the relevant website.
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS THAT CAN BE TRANSFERRED VERTICALLY FROM THE DEPARTMENT
Graduates who wish to continue their education have the opportunity to transfer to four-year undergraduate programs at various universities, depending on their scores and quota availability on the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center. The undergraduate programs available for vertical transfer from the Business Management Program are as follows:
